>>3367781 With 3D printers you control how solid the model is with settings. Something that needs to be very strong like a printed mounting bracket for a motorcycle would likely be a 100% infill so it is essentially a solid piece of plastic. Acetone treating can make the piece even stronger by melting the outer layers together, If you need a figure that sets on a shelf then it can be nearly hollow which uses a lot less plastic and prints much much quicker. I have thought of printing hollow and using casing resin to coat the inside to make it stronger but haven't done it yet. >>3367781 You think I had 3D printing skills when I bought my first one? Shit man I had to learn. You learn by doing. The interbutts has the basics everywhere you look. You run into a problem, some shlub has before you and has made a Youtube Video if not 20. >>3367920 Photo sensitive resin printers are the next big thing about to hit the market that are going to make $99 home printers possible. They use a cell phone to project an image on the bottom of a clear tank layer by layer as a platform lifts up. It can make prints that are almost smooth as glass compared to the stack of pancakes most 3D printers are right now. |
