Your problems stem from a lack of understanding/practice in depth geometry. Your drawing is entirely flat, and you're just placing things on the sheet in 2D and shifting them around until they look "right".

Step away from drawing furry entirely for a while and draw perspective grids, buildings and landscapes. Paint clouds. Use impressionistic painting styles without caring whether your shapes are correct but whether the depth and color turn out believeable. In impressionism, you merely infer detail most of the time, so it's best viewed when you take a step back or squint your eyes a little so you don't see so clearly.

You'd be surprised to notice that the first thing you draw turn out like childrens' drawings even though you thought you knew how to draw. The point here isn't to grind perspective into you, but to get you some hand-eye coordination in the depth direction so you start to place things the right way automatically, so just freely draw whatever, abstract colored cubes or peoples noses and have fun with it.
